Metal Packaging: A move towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Metal Packaging Europe has taken transformative steps towards a more sustainable and resilient path. Based on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development presented in 2015, the metal packaging industry has set out an ambitious vision to transform its sector.

As an infinitely recyclable permanent material, metal is perfectly placed to contribute to a sustainable, circular economy. To illustrate how it integrates sustainable development practices, Metal Packaging Europe has created a dedicated microsite to demonstrate activities and commitments MPE Members have undertaken to increase sustainability in the metal packaging industry.

By aligning sustainability priorities with the relevant SDGs, the metal packaging industry aims to make a significant contribution towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
